LSU’s first men’s basketball team played in the 1908-09 season. Throughout their first century, the team was home to legends, including “Pistol Pete” Maravich, Shaquille O’Neal and Bob Pettit. On the women’s side, the Tigers earned their first basketball national championship in 2023, playing an incredible championship game against Iowa to bring the title home.
